Relaxation at Sandstone
My wife and I enjoyed spending our vacation time at Sandstone. The studio apartment is located with a short walk to the beach. The entire setting is very quiet and tranquil. We plan to visit again!

Perfect for a couple!
We stayed at the Sandstone for 8 nights in April. This is our 4th trip to the area. The Sandstone is perfect for a couple looking for close to the beach and enjoys cooking some of your own meals. This place has the basics for cooking and preparation. Refrigerator is adequate, but you may want to grab a cooler for drinks. Washing machine and dryer is same unit type and works fine, just a little hard to figure out for the 1st time. Bed seems a little hard, but we did sleep great on it and the area is very quiet. My only bad experience is parking, the unit has a space clearly marked, but many days I had the neighbor lady in unit#51 that is a perment resident tell me that everyone just parks in what ever free space that is available, I found that this was not true, as on the 3rd day I ended up with a unpleasant note on my vehicle, telling me in my own spot, at this time the lady in unit#51 was still claiming our spot. We would like to mention a very pleasant experience with our neighbor in unit 35 next to us, his name was Julian, and his dogs name was Lucky, Lucky came to see us every morning and shared breakfast with us, he was a very well mannered dog and we enjoyed his company. Overall, we give this 5-stars for a great overall experience! We did give one 4-star for a rug at the end of the bed that needs to be replaced, it's falling apart.

Great location, the safe did not work correctly and I have used many of this type. Called to report and no one ever showed up. Then sent an email and no one responded. I was uneasy about leaving my money in the room but had no choice, thank goodness I could lower the shutters on the back door and the lock was high quality. The location is wonderful. I found two of the pools that I could used but not the third one, maybe management should identify where they are? I prefer quiet so to avoid loud people I would have liked another pool choice. There is a smell as soon as you enter the room and I believe it is the AC unit above, it also leaks on the floor. The washer and dryer worked great and the unit had all the kitchen gadgets. Also it is a 'free for all' on the parking although it is assigned, I often found others parked in my spot. That put me in someone else's spot. YES, I would stay here again.

The location is great
The location is great but I have couple suggestions for the unit: The windows had just sheer curtains it should have curtains that block the view inside the unit at night when the lights are on inside. Put a soap dish in shower and at sink, some more hooks or towel racks for wet items. The faucet in the bathroom was loose (the plumber was called to fix it which they did the day we left). The beach towels provided were not washed, luckily we brought our own. With a few changes this place could be better.

There are many reasons why this is a great place to stay, close to beach close to restaurant, great for walking, quiet. We love staying here only one draw back the furniture is not very comfortable, we like the full kitchen, the washing machine, and small grill out on porch. It is a very safe place to stay.

We were so pleasantly surprised when we walked into our rental. We had rented another studio two years in a row, but it was sold and unavailable for us this time around. We enjoyed our stay at Sandstone so much we placed a deposit on next year already, which is something we had never done before! All appliances worked well (the washer was great!). Came with a coffee maker, toaster, full size refrig and stove, and just enough silverware/dishes for the two of us. Everything was very clean upon our arrival, and the room was cool and refreshing after our drive from the airport and stopping for groceries. The studio was very close to the beach, especially if you used the access gate located behind the collection of apts in the cul de sac. It was very quiet and peaceful in the evening, since it appeared many of the other apts were leased to residents of the village. We are very excited to return next year!!

JUST LIKE IT SHOWED ON THE WEBB SITE. CLEAN AND VERY COMFORTABLE. PRIVATE. CLOSE TO EVERYTHING. NICE TO HAVE AMERICAN TV

This condo was very clean and close to everything we needed, the beach, cafe's and grocery stores, as well as nice restaurants. I would recommend this location and also encourage you to visit the south end of the beach where the true islanders have beach bars and food stands. It is much more relaxed and fun at that end of the beach and not so uptight.

Excellent Place To Stay
Great location, short walk to many restaurants, grocery store, pizza place etc. Very short walk to beach (even have your own gate key), bare foot all the way. And on top of that 20 feet out the back patio to the very nice and large pool. Studio had plenty of towels, toiletries, kitchen utensils. Would definitely stay there again.

Sandstone was just perfect for us. Nice unit great location. We walked to beach and romantic dinners. Had a few questions and problems upon arrival but Christine was more than helpful even to the extent of coming twice to our unit Will definitely return next year.

Was extremely pleased with this unit. Pictures are accurate, location is perfect for our needs! Loved the "self" check in and out, so much less stressful than trying to meet up with someone.

Simple but good II
We went for kitesurfing, location very close to the beach was perfect. The place is compact but you get used to it. Expect neighbors to be close & can be dense but we had no issues. We cooked most of our meals and although the kitchen essentially has the basics it was OK. The local mini grocery & Bakery (try the whole french chicken, worth the $) will allow to not have a car. We ended renting one for 3 day from a ref of the Alamanda hotel close by, I strongly suggest this. Enjoyed going to Grand Case for dinner. Having the pool & patio was definitely a plus. A few mosquitoes early/late easily chased by using a burning coil. The site is safe, people leave their clothes drying. We closed the alu blind 3/4 down at night and slept very well. We thought the quality foam bed was great in opposition to a previous comment I read. The only little annoyance is the low water pressure/flow. We drank tap water all week without any issues. Be informed the pool shower is collected rain water, it should not be considered potable. Good pressure for rinsing after the beach, rather than inside. Enjoyed our stay, would return if the kitesurfing was less 'complicated'.

Simple but good
Requested knives and chairs and got them. The studio is simple but does the job perfectly.

Sandstone is a great place to stay
This is a wonderful studio, located close to dining, shops, and the beach. Nothing is more than a few minutes walk away. If I were to have one request, it would be to install a small dining table with a couple of chairs in the unit. We stayed for a month and having a place to sit while eating would have been more comfortable. Other than that, the condo was clean and suited our needs perfectly. Special thanks to the friendly staff at the nearby Alamanda Hotel who answered our questions and arranged our occasional car rentals. Orient Beach is world-class; a long wide beach, perfect for long walks. The sand stays cool and isn't too gritty. Easy to walk on. People watching at its best! A wide variety of people from all over the world. Rent a couple of chairs and an umbrella by the water, sit back, and let the staff bring you your drinks as you enjoy the sun and the view. At night, eat at one of the many restaurants within walking distance - pizza, burgers, fine dining (French, Italian, Asian, and many more). Or pick up take-out and eat on your patio. A few restaurants in the area (Ranchero Del Sol) will also deliver. We have rented accommodations from Lydia Gump for a few years now and have always been treated well. We highly recommend her units.

A relaxing 1 month stay
only a few things I would like to see a couple of good sharp large knives a cutting board and stools at the breakfast bar area or a small table and chairs to eat meals

Great location. Close to everything, bars, restaurants, shops. Staff was very helpful when required. Very clean and comfortable bed. Would book this place again.
John Behrns Meaford, ON, Canada Jan 2016
The studio has prime location, just steps from the beach, restaurants, shops and bakery/cafe. It's clean and has everything you need. Lydia, the property manager, was very sweet and helpful. The only thing we would suggest fixing is the oven. It cannot be turned on for longer than a few seconds or a circuit breaker kicks out. Other then that, it was a great place for us and would definitely stay here again!
Aida Dragovi, Cncinnati, OH, USA Dec 2015
Overall it met most of our needs. Communication upon arrival poor, assuming since it was late. No instructions for various items in rental. the shower head appears to have just one small setting that could use replacing. A ceiling or floor fan is needed because ac doesn't flow into the bedroom area very well. Instructions for appliances needed handy. The bed was extremely hard surface, suggest a mattress foam topper or something similar. Inform American rentals that they need to bring their own adaptors, the ones provided only work on phones. Example, curling iron has a bigger plug output on one side.

Sandstone October 2015
Sandstone is one of the nicest properties we have experienced in St Martin. The unit is virtually brand new - I think we were the first renters. Although a studio, it is arranged so that you feel it is much more spacious. It is immaculate and has all the amenities one could wish for. We originally had problems with wifi and understanding the TV and washing machine, but Caileen(sp) and Lydia came to our rescue and everything ended up great. Recommendations would be a couple of barstools, some towel racks in the bathroom, and the front door needs weather stripping. Location is great, close to the Village and the beach. Bottom line, we think this is a great unit and plan on staying there on our next trip.
