Carnival on St. Maarten & St. Martin
Amazing, unique, and very important to the local folks
Two Carnival Chain of Events
Carnival is a major period of the year during which the island’s inhabitants go out disguised (even masked or yet made up) and get together in the streets to sing, dance, make music in the streets, throw confetti, and eventually around a parade.
The French side Carnival takes place from January 30th to February 18th, 2015. The dates slightly variy each year.
The Dutch side Carnival takes place from April 16th to May 4th, 2015. The dates slightly vary each year. The event promises to expect six jump-ups, seven international concerts, nine local events, five pageants, four parades and a whole lot of surprises mixed in. Please, check on the Internet for the individual schedules for the timeframe of the planned visit. Tourist Boards, Carnival planning comitees, and the local press provide plenty of information on the upcoming events.
